The Role of Experts by Experience at Niemikoti Foundation
In Niemikoti Foundation’s expert by experience activities, the emphasis is on community and safety, made possible by a non-discriminatory environment. Experts by experience at Niemikoti Foundation take on a variety of roles, such as:
- Peer instructor
- Member of a recovery group
- Member of a cooperation group
- Evaluator and developer of housing services
- Evaluator and developer of activity-based rehabilitation
- Experience-based trainer and facilitator
Roles outside the Foundation include:
- Support person for a person in recovery
- Trainer
- Expert in panel discussions and dialogue sessions
- Informer / communicator
