Niemikoti Foundation’s vision – the best place to recover
The vision of Niemikoti Foundation is to provide the best recovery environment in its field for its service users. Our goal is to continually do everything better, so that recovery becomes possible and life easier and more enjoyable. Through our work, we help prevent exclusion and inequality.
Diverse activities based on recovery orientation
We are involved in many aspects of the lives of people in mental health recovery in Helsinki. We provide housing, work, education, training, studies, and day and leisure activities. Our services form a clear whole that supports service users in different stages of their lives. Our work is based on recovery orientation. According to this philosophy, independent decision-making, personal experiences, goals, and hopes of service users are central to recovery. Niemikoti Foundation has also played a significant role in bringing recovery orientation thinking into Finnish mental health work. We actively participate in both national and international cooperation in our field.
A strong value base
Expertise, reliability, responsibility, and equality form the foundation of our work. In all our activities, we also strive to take into account economic and environmental perspectives. Niemikoti Foundation has received the City of Helsinki’s EcoCompass certificate in recognition of our commitment to managing and developing environmental matters.
Quality and impact of services as priorities
The continuous evaluation and development of the quality and impact of our services is especially important to us. High-quality and impactful services are not only in the best interest of service users but also the most economically sustainable way of providing services in the long term. We believe in co-development, meaning that we develop and evaluate our services together with service users.
