Two units under one roof – a new phase in Niemikoti Foundation’s work in Kontula

Niemikoti Foundation’s activities in Kontula have entered a new phase as two of the foundation’s units, Jälleenvuokraus and Otsonpolku, have moved to the same address at Kilpolantie 2. Previously operating in different parts of the city, the units have now found a shared location in Kontula, strengthening both internal collaboration and the smooth flow of everyday work.

The move was not merely a change of premises, but a deliberate step towards closer cooperation. Bringing expertise, staff and practices closer together makes it possible to support residents more flexibly and to develop services jointly. Shared facilities facilitate interaction between professionals and enable quicker support when it is needed.

Kontula’s local newspaper, KonO’Star, visited Niemikoti Foundation’s new premises and activities. Satu Rintala, Head Instructor at Otsonpolku, and Timo Sampo from Jälleenvuokraus discuss the background of the move, the coming together of the two units, and the kind of support Niemikoti Foundation provides for people living in Kontula. The article also highlights support for independent living, everyday skills, and how cooperation with other local actors is built in the area.

The new location has been well received by both residents and partners. Kontula offers a wide range of services and a functional environment that naturally supports cooperation with other local organisations. This aligns with Niemikoti Foundation’s goal of strengthening clients’ independence, inclusion, and ability to manage everyday life.
