Recovery-Oriented Approach as Our Framework

Recovery orientation refers to creating a new and meaningful life after experiencing a mental health condition or another long-term illness. Even if the illness does not fully heal or returning to life before the illness is not possible, it is still possible to recover and to see hope for the future.

Recovery means living a life and identity that are meaningful to oneself, as well as having faith, hope, and trust in the future. The core of the recovery-oriented approach lies in the service user’s own participation, relationships, and empowerment.

In recent years, recovery orientation has gained increasing ground in mental health work as the basis for providing services.
